Advanced Surgical Care

When it's more than a toothache.

Some problems, a facial injury, a jaw that won't open, an ulcer that won't heal, need a surgeon, not just a dentist. This clinic is led by an oral & maxillofacial surgeon, so complex cases are treated here in Karnal instead of being referred to Delhi or Chandigarh.

๐Ÿš‘

Facial Trauma & Jaw Fractures

Injuries to the face, teeth or jaw from road accidents, falls or sports. Even when cuts look small, the bone underneath can be fractured, a proper check matters.

When to seek help & what happens here

Seek help if: there has been any hard hit to the face, especially if teeth don't meet the way they used to, biting hurts, the face looks uneven, or there is numbness in the lip or chin. If the injury just happened, see what to do first on our Emergency page.

At the clinic: X-rays or a scan to see the full picture, honest explanation of what's broken and what isn't, and treatment from simple splinting to fixing fractures. For serious injuries we coordinate directly with the hospital treating you, so nothing falls between two doctors.

๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Corrective Jaw Surgery

For jaws that don't meet properly, an upper or lower jaw set too far forward or back. It can affect chewing, speech, breathing during sleep, and confidence.

When to seek help & what happens here

Seek help if: your front or back teeth never touch when you bite, your jaw looks noticeably forward or back, or an orthodontist has said braces alone can't correct your bite.

At the clinic: a careful study of your bite with scans and models, a plan made together with your orthodontist, and a clear explanation of timelines before anything begins. Surgery itself is planned in a hospital operating theatre, with all assessment, planning and follow-up here at the clinic.

Oral Cancer Screening & Biopsy

A mouth ulcer or patch that hasn't healed in two weeks deserves a look, most turn out to be harmless, and checking is quick and painless. Early detection is what makes the difference.

When to seek help & what happens here

Seek help if: an ulcer, white or red patch, or rough area in the mouth hasn't healed in two weeks, especially if you use tobacco or pan masala. No symptom on this list means you have cancer; it means it's worth ruling out.

At the clinic: a gentle visual and hands-on examination under good light, it takes minutes and doesn't hurt. If anything needs a closer look, a small tissue sample is taken under local numbing, and Dr. Nainik Mehta explains the result to you plainly, in person.

๐Ÿ˜ฃ

TMJ Disorders (Jaw Joint Problems)

Clicking sounds, pain near the ear, a jaw that locks or gets stuck, tired jaw muscles in the morning, these come from the joint just in front of your ear.

When to seek help & what happens here

Seek help if: jaw clicking comes with pain, your mouth won't open fully or locks open, chewing hurts, or you wake up with a stiff, aching jaw regularly.

At the clinic: an examination of the joint and muscles, and an honest plan, most TMJ problems improve without surgery, using night guards, targeted exercises and habit changes. Surgery is a last resort, and we'll tell you plainly if you don't need it.

Cysts & Tumours of the Jaw

Slow-growing swellings inside the jawbone, often discovered by chance on an X-ray. Most are benign (not cancer), but they can damage teeth and bone if left alone.

When to seek help & what happens here

Seek help if: you notice a slowly growing swelling of the jaw, teeth becoming loose without gum disease, or your dentist has spotted a shadow on an X-ray and suggested a specialist opinion.

At the clinic: a scan to understand the size and position, a biopsy where needed, and removal planned so that healthy teeth and bone are preserved wherever possible, with scheduled follow-ups to confirm healing.

For families of trauma patients

What to expect: after an accident, the hospital handles life-threatening injuries first, that is correct and we support it. Facial and jaw injuries are then treated by us, either at the hospital or here at the clinic once the patient is stable.

What to bring: any hospital discharge papers, X-rays or scans already taken, and a list of medicines the patient is on. Don't worry if you don't have everything, we can request records directly.

How we'll talk to you: Dr. Nainik Mehta will sit with the family and explain what is injured, what needs doing, and what recovery looks like, in plain Hindi or English, with time for your questions. You will never be rushed into a decision.

Common questions about surgical care

Is surgery painful?

During the procedure, no. Depending on the surgery, you'll have local anaesthesia (the area is fully numb while you stay awake) or general anaesthesia (you're asleep). Afterwards, some soreness and swelling for a few days is normal and is managed with prescribed medicines. We tell you exactly what to expect for your procedure before you decide anything. Will I need to be admitted overnight?

Most surgical procedures here are day-care, you go home the same day with clear written instructions. Larger surgeries, such as fracture repairs or corrective jaw surgery, may need a short stay in a hospital operating theatre. We arrange this at a suitable hospital in Karnal for your case. You'll know which applies to you before treatment is planned, never as a surprise.

Do you work with hospitals in Karnal?

Yes. For trauma cases and surgeries that need an operating theatre, we operate at hospitals in Karnal, choosing the one that suits your case and, where relevant, where you are already admitted. If you arrive at a hospital first after an accident, we coordinate with their team directly so your facial and dental care continues without gaps. What to do in an emergency โ†’
